Our Mission
A bureau in service of knowledge
Founded by Professor Ghani ul Akram Sabzwari in Karachi, the LPB exists to promote the establishment, development, and improvement of libraries — and to nurture the profession through scholarship, publication, and partnership.

The Founder
Prof. Ghani ul Akram Sabzwari
In 1966, in Karachi, Professor Sabzwari founded the Library Promotion Bureau — a vision that grew into a generational institution for Pakistan's library profession. He shall be recognized perpetually as the Founder, and serves as Patron-in-Chief for life.
Co-founded with the late Mr. Abul Moeed, Mr. Adil Usmani, and Ms. Naseem Fatima — names permanently inscribed in the records of the Bureau as a mark of gratitude.
